Pondgull Triptych, 2008, oil on panels, 33"w x 10.25"h
From behind the rocks, Pondgull looks on, sidelong with an introspective gaze. Originally shown separately, I now consider the panels to be a singular unit. The inspiration for this triptych comes from a photograph taken by a friend/muse at the tip of Cape Cod, otherwise known as Long Point. Geography and location are important referential elements within my art practice. This painting was shown as a part of the Clifford Eberly Pondgull installation exhibited at the Mantis Collective in Harrisburg, PA during November, 2008.

At only 25 years old, Lucille is already a New York City institution. She is a French-born personality of Senegalese ancestry. The photo was taken at the famous Lower East Side dive Mars Bar, where Lucille works as a bartender. There she collects stories and befriends characters from all walks of life.
